Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on January 16, 1920 on the campus of Howard University in Washington DC. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded by 5 virtuous women, Arizona Cleaver, Pearl Neal, Viola Tyler, Fannie Pettie, and Myrtle Tyler. These women sought out a new organization based the precepts of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love, and Finer Womanhood.
The Zeta Xi Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, located at Western Carolina University was formed September 27, 1989. Throughout the year, the Zeta Xi Chapter, hosts multiple programs with the idea of education, encouragement, and enhancement for both the campus and the surrounding community in mind.
